I just now read on ExpattaxThailand website that U.S. Social Security is considered non-taxable due to the DTA and is exempt from Thai taxation, even if remitted to a Thai bank.

Graeme Drake So currently ATM withdrawals are not linked? That's a plus, at least for now.

Besides "assessable" income, isn't it also true that only assessable "remitted" income is taxable? So, let's say just for an example that ones U.S. retirement income (pension and S.S.) is $4K per month but only $2K is brought into Thailand, only the $2K is considered taxable in Thailand, before tax credits, exemptions and deductions.
