Don't take the risk of overstay there is a fine 500baht each day overstay but always a big chance of being stamped and noted you overstayed and will be a red flag if you want to visit again get 60 day visa and when in thailand get 30 extension cost 1900baht or 90 day visa or other option is visiting another border country for short time and re enter thailand and get another 45 days visa exempt to be on safe side of the thai law like thai girls say up to you

May be chonburi or chanthaburi is much less tourist and less hustle and bustle sounds more to your liking a little south of Pattaya

3 options you have you get another 30 days at Immigration for 1900 baht or cross a border short trip and re enter get 45 days or overstay for the 15 days you need and pay the fine of 500baht per day overstay and probably have it noted you overstayed and be on watch if you enter thialand again like the thai girls say up to you 😉

you maybe correct but I have never had issues leaving Australia with a one way ticket only issues had was entry to another country and that was thailand 2 occasion out of 21 trips

Maybe issues if no onward ticket or return ticket at time of entry
