well he's just come back home, soaking wet and freezing cold. Got him stripped off and into the shower to heat up. Golf might be the death of him yet. 😱
agreed but they really are just money pots. We have all done it over the years. Nowadays I have a gf who is 54 and stunning. And she never asks me for a bean, but... She's also taking care of her Ill bf and obviously as he has no family she's hanging fire for when he pops his clogs. U can take a Thai girl out of Thailand but u can't take Thailand out of the girl.
Of course I totally agree with u. I've lived and worked there without incident but nowadays no one knows what the rules are. The government keeps on changing whatever the previous government set as law. Ur visas, 30,45 then 60. Giving random countries longer visa exemptions. Cannabis rules are already in the toilet. Even stupid things like not getting a beer from a

between 2pm and 5pm.
Get a grip or The Thailand will become a tourist desert. So many other countries close by are far more accommodating.
I agree. They are bitching about the low tourism numbers then make u jump through hoops to enter, I lived there three years and now I plan to visit more of Asia (which was my idea on retirement). U can do 90 days in Vietnam and hop in and out as often as I like. Cambodia is even easier. Then u have Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
absolutely. It's not rocket science. Soon every country will have a version of this. Play the game, stick to the rules and there shouldn't be an issue.
that's what it's all about. Corruption is everywhere in the land of smiles. I'm bored paying for the privilege to live there. Also u can get stuck in a rut. I'm going to travel more and use Vietnam as my base. Accommodation is cheap enough to keep it going even when u are away. Flights to neighboring countries are also very affordable.
true. So why not make it an excuse for a holiday. There's so many options. Although I love Thailand, I'm done jumping through hoops to live there. I really do think they have shot themselves in the foot with all the flip flopping
at the end of the day it's patently obvious that they don't want tourism any more. I've lived there for three years before going back to look after my sick dad. I won't be returning until they sort out this visa fiasco. Vietnam is so much more accessible
