I heard different, apparently they relaxed arriving by air but hardened up on the 2 land entries. At the end of the day no one has a clue and it all depends on the mood of the IO at customs. Nothing is set in stone.

3 visa exemptions within a 6 month period according to the embassy website but like every thing else in Thailand it’s surrounded by vagueness and whatever.

The visa requirements are backwards. They don’t care about income they just want to see the 500k in a bank account so theoretically you could be unemployed. It’s a remote worker visa surely evidence of income is all they should need. I’m a remote worker and earn 90k baht per month but because I don’t have 500k just floating there I can’t get the visa. It’s pure bs and penalises a lot of remote workers meaning legit long term visas are STILL out of reach for the majority. And they wonder why people abuse the tourist visas.

I don’t understand why 6 months of payslips and work contract can’t just suffice. Not many people just have 500k baht sat in their accounts. I earn 90k baht per month which I can prove and would happily pay tax on, but because I don’t have a random 500k baht sat there i don’t qualify for the visa which is pure bs. At my age the only way I can stay long term legally is marriage visa. I can’t do an ED visa because I have to work to earn the said 90k baht per month.

So it’s either a marriage visa or just abuse the tourist visa.

I’m hoping that 500k baht requirement gets reduced or replaced with income evidence.
