Apparently all the embassies are charging a premium, but $600 is cheap. 14,500 baht for five years is 2,900 a year. It's a cake-walk.

Not from Siam Legal. They often get things wrong. I'll stick with the info from the MFA and the Canberra Embassy. But I wouldn't be using the extension anyway. Easier for me to do the bounce every six months. And yes I'm on a non-O but that's getting the flick when I go back to Australia in a couple of months. The DTV is most definitely for me. 10,000 baht for five years, no need for the

monthly transfers, no need for expensive health insurance, no need to visit immigration. It's the best news for years in Thailand visas. A game changer. The only downside, it'll encourage a lot of deadbeats to come live in Thailand, but that's life

You're way out of your depth. The link you've sent is for a private law firm

You call it a cartoon, but it's published by the Thai Government, so I'll call it an infographic.

I don't think so. The infographic clearly says 180 days per ENTRY. Yes it might change, but somehow I can't see it. This new government is opening the doors, it's years overdue

I think you'll find a stampede of retirees becoming "content creators" overnight. I'm one of them - ready to sit in a cafe for an hour every day checking emails, nursing one cheap coffee, and uploading a gormless video onto my "digital nomad" YouTube channel!

It's all good. Normally when someone resorts to insults it means they're not happy with what they're hearing. I think you'll find the Thai Government has just opened the door to anyone who wants to be here for five years and bring their family with them. No need for Thai bank account, no need for insurance, no need to visit immigration. 180 days each time you bounce. It's a dream come true for retirees. No more exacting conditions to meet. Thank you Thailand

All extensions are 1900 baht. The 10,000 is the visa fee. The visa lasts for five years. Border bounce it's free, extend at immigration is 1900 baht. I'll be bouncing, because twice a year I endure the "visit the in-laws" trip way out east. The Chong Mek border is only 30 mins drive. This visa is brilliant. Overnight the non-O, OA, OX, LTR have been made redundant. Five years and no requirement to visit immigration. I'm so excited I almost wet my pants! 😆😲😲
