Id use the airport but any time you leave and come back it resets the 180 day stay up to 5 years - if im not mistaken its best to wait a few days before returning

- yes but people abusing the exempt stamp to be here long term screwing it for the reat of us , that is why they are doing it doesnt matter if they are here to be tourist the rule applies across the board and this is what they are doing to fight abuse. I was denied bank account on my student visa cause they are fighting fraud and abuse so I have to suffer fees and cost to pull money here to be here - thanks to others who abuse the system

Chiang mai expats one group i think it was im in many groups people who have already used exemption and extended are able to come back but only offered 7 days extension past that - the limit is set to calendar year not 12 month period so im going to assume January 1st will re-set the limit but then again will depend on the IO nothing is clear cut here - this is why I just got a non-o visa i will hold for 3 consecutive years then apply for perm resident i will be taking thai language for 2 consecutive years as thai language proficiency is required for the perm resident visa

incorrect thai immigration will allow no more than 2 a calendar year on exempt as released by thai immigration - use something other then a blog

100% vet here - i actually did education visa conversion in country from visa exempt - i enrolled in courses - its 1 year visa they give you to study - stamp you get is for 3 months that you extend for 1900 baht - for that year - along with 90 day report. - im 41 as well not 50 - I elected not to go with the DTV for now

im 41 ive been here since may I dont do visa runs i dont have a DTV - Im here on a student visa - what you are talking about is people who do visa runs do it because they simply dont want to apply for a visa. If they can afford to leave and come back every 60 days paying a company to ensure their entry they can afford to pay for a student visa enroll in classes the attendance requirement is very relaxed 😌 and there are good programs you can enroll in. What my comment was about obtaining the proper visa that fits why you are here. Visa exempt was established to boost tourism 90 days - for tourism 60 days is more than enough. DTV isnt going anywhere people dont like it now due to bank accounts are being restricted and thats being done due to fraud. The visa exempt loophole is being tightened up due to fraud and abuse.
