There’s more risk if you’ve been living in Thailand, pop over to Vietnam, lodge an application then head straight back to Thailand on either visa exempt or whatever you had previously. Once you get your DTV then you bounce to activate it there’s a chance you’ll get questioned as it’s obvious what you’ve done.

Someone recently posted they arrived on visa exempt from a European country because they thought their DYV application would be denied. Then it was approved.

With the stamps in their passport I would imagine that that DTV activation bounce would attract less scrutiny.

That would be the only reason I can think of to ask for that. Easy enough to scan all those pages before you did leave though, just in case 😊

Print out the pdf file (that is your visa) leave Thailand and re-enter. Show the immigration officer your DTV and you’ll get a 180 day entry stamp.

well, mainly because other extensions aren’t. Proof of funds, letters from Thai banks, updated bank books, seasoning of funds. These are all requirements for other extensions.

DTV are mainly obtained with funds shown in foreign bank accounts. Issued by embassies and consulates. Immigration aren’t likely to accept foreign account statements.

People are reporting difficulties opening bank accounts.

These things lead me to believe it won’t be simple.

Plus they won’t bend over backwards to get ฿1900

probably because the extension is unlikely to be ‘simple’.

Going shopping for the day in Kuala Lumpur, for example, is quite straightforward.

Obviously that’s location specific, if you’re in Nakhon Nowhere surrounded by chickens and dogs, and a good slog from a land border, then an extension may be more attractive.

You will, hopefully, soon learn that there is no one ‘it always works in this way’ in Thailand. That goes for individuals, businesses (like banks), government departments, and immigration offices/officers.

The ‘bunch of stuff’ that any landlord might want from you will differ from person to person.

You take the uk marriage certificate and register it in thailand. They then provide you with what’s called a Kor Ror 22 คร..22 (get your wife to search for that term)

That is the Thai version of your foreign marriage certificate.

Here’s a video she can watch so she understands how to do it

simply not true. My ex wife is waiting for her next uk visa and cannot leave the country till the decision is made. Could be six months.

it’s not a ‘work around’ when you stay somewhere, that’s where you are, that’s your address, and you have proof of being there. Like your hotel or AirbnB reservation.
