Huge wealth stacked high in a few houses is far less useful than wealth spread more equally across the population, but neither Thailand nor Cambodia could be accused of accomplishing that happy situation.

The Youtubers were extremely careful to point out that this is all pure speculation right now.

Just remember that only a small percentage of available rental condos and villas permit pets. There ARE some available but your selection will be severely restricted compared to someone with no pets.

If you live in Chiang Mai I would definitely open my bank account there rather than somewhere cheaper or easier. There are a variety of good reasons for this, chief of which if you need to do something official, you will be asked to do it at the branch where you opened the account.

I think your experiences fall into the “don’t let the desire for perfection keep you from achieving the merely good” category.

I have horror stories too -although from USA rather than Thai banks.

But I continue to use American banks, because despite their imperfection, not using them would be even worse.

Not a criticism - just an observation.
