Because I'm smart, retired and living in Thailand long term.1,900 baht/year is what I pay. I can do everything at immigration in my sleep. Why would I need an LTR? Please tell.

You mean a 12 months bank statement. The bank letter doesn't show any transactions.

I'm using copies of my bank book going back 14 months plus the bank letter. No need for a 12 months bank statement.

Immigration issues a certificate of residence but some embassies issues an equivalent to that certificate. Thats the one the bank asked for. You can ask them if immigrations certificate will suffice.

Some embassies issues an equivalent to immigrations certificate of residence and there are banks that still asks for that certificate. Years ago Bangkok Bank in Kanchanaburi required that certificate. I don't know if they still do. One of Bangkok Banks official requirements (until a few years ago), was that certificate or immigrations certificate of residence.

How come you and so many retirees thinks that 800k is a fortune? Parking the money in a Fixed Deposit Account in a Thai bank isn't imo bad.
