Can I extend my 30-day visa exempt entry in Thailand?

I asked the same question and I believe the answer is about 99% yes. However, many have recommended going for the TR visa for 60 days so that is what I am going to do just to be really safe.

 This is great! However, the STV make the most sense because you get up to 9 months..which is amazing, but is that guaranteed? Everyone says dont do the STV..come in with the TR Tourist visa...
