The airline will likely ask to see onward travel, you can always book a cheap flight, you can usually find ones to KL for quite affordable prices. Then again, they might not ask you. If they do ask and you don’t have it you could be denied boarding

Pat Trick the airlines care quite a bit as they face fines if passengers are denied at immigration. They’re the most likely to ask about onward travel, more than the immigration officer

Eric Alan They’ve not shut the border down, not even close. Getting more strict is not the same as closing the border

The rules don’t really seem to be changing all that much, tbh. After all, the DTV, especially the digital nomad aspect, seemed to be designed with the intention that people would be, well, nomadic, coming and going every few months, not exactly as an 5 year residency permit, tho that seems to be how most folks try to use it, and how influencers have been promoting it

Sujy Sujaree It totally depends what time of year, especially flying in to Phuket. And with Elite visa, one always have the staff liaison who meets you at the gate. Why pay for another agent? What would they do differently?

Ivan McAvinchey because the bad behavior of others unfortunately affects those not doing the bad behavior 🤷🏼‍♂️

Also, crackdowns tend to happen this time of year, it’s a pretty regular thing

Bonnie Smith Probably because of all the examples of folks casually overstaying like it’s no big deal, foreigners acting disrespectfully and badly, the scammer situation, and the heightened national security environment at the moment. That’d be my guess, at least

Sam Ebb Huh. I always thought it was one long queue winding around, with 10 or so IOs, and when the next one comes available, the next person in the queue goes to that one. Would look kinda sketch if the next available window is a woman and you just let the person behind you go first instead. That's always what it looks like, at least. i always just get to cut right to the front with the TE personnel and it's always a quick 2 minute process

Sam Ebb how do you pick the IO, isn’t it a case of just go to the next available counter?
