Don't listen to these people just show up at the airport and they will give you one. Tell the immigration officer that you want to do their job and ask how to apply. Be sure and speak as many different languages as you know words from. That will really impress them.

someone who learns a language will speak it correctly. A native speaker speaks it naturally. So if you want to talk like a textbook than you are fine either way,but if you want to sound native the only way to learn it is from a native speaker.

you are mixed up. DTV is less in the bank than a retirement visa. And can be in your home bank rather than needing a Thai bank account.

depending on the bank you do, but it is very little. And with the yearly fees etc basically 0 if you only keep the minimum in there.

they can ask anytime you extend or enter the country. They might not but they are cracking down on the abuse of all their visas.

20kthb is if you come visa exempt. You are supposed to have cash with you so immigration can see you can support yourself. It is one of the things they can ask to see.

For the DTV you are showing you have access to that money and not going to be trying to find a job in Thailand.
