Can you enter Thailand on a one-way ticket without showing proof of an onward or return ticket?

Came in on a 90 day retirement visa, to convert to 12 mobth, which i received from the Thai Embassy in London.They wanted details of my flight into Thailand but nothing about a return ticket. That was August 2025 when I applied.

Lot of comments saying it is simple. It possibly is, but one mistake and you are in a mess. Find an agent. It is 100% less stressful.

How much does a retirement visa cost in Thailand now?

Lydia Zimmerman yes. 100% agree. It costs for their time, obviously, but well worth it. I use a lady to deal with everything and it is so much easier. At the immigration office she was going through doors that said "no admittance, authorise persons only". The officers know her very well and I did nothing but sit and wait. We even jumped the queue because she knew the procedures.
