Have Australian banks asked expats for a Thai Tax Identification Number?

Across the ditch here. My bank ( Kiwi Bank) says we are obliged to declare to the bank if we are a tax resident of another country ) . That I guess if I got portability to Thailand then I am obliged to give the taxation number here in Thailand..

It is all madness..Thailand is schizophrenic. They want tourists they don't want tourists It will change again when Trumys tarrifs kick in there and few good tourists or long term guys. They kidding themselves if elites would come there for long ..They go where other wealthy go .lol
