Those holding Tourist Visas are not permitted to hold bank accounts in T’land.

If you plan on traveling around SE Asia….United Overseas Bank (UOB) have branch’s all through SE Asia.

Otherwise GSB. “Gov’t Savings Bank”. They have branches in every small village throughout Thailand, unlike many of the other more mainstream commercial banks.

I’ve been living in Phuket for over the past 26yrs and though I have accounts with other banks, UOB and GSB are my two primary banks.

Be advised that Cigna no longer have offices inside Thailand. You can however apply through any of their overseas offices.
