Well heavily depends port on entry letter of Thai law as I understand it no, but 20k is needed as a guarantee to be able to show you can support yourself. That being said recently post from Chiang Mai indicates first time arrivals have checks upon going through
Immigration, and would be handy to be able to show that 500k, haven’t heard from anyone else being interviewed/interrogated like Chiang Mai.
Recent clients of mine reports a smooth process in Bangkok.
Definitely recommend atleast 3 months worth of 500k statements but for faster approval provide 6 months because they might ask a lot of questions without it.
If you need any guidance on the process or have any other questions feel free to PM me
All visas are Evisa now which means no requirements that it has to be in your passport just keep hold of your email and pdf where you receive your DTV :)
There is always a solution to every situation, I send you a PM but I highly doubt without anything else they would accept -200k as a balance point but lmk if you want to discuss your current situation.
Definitely should be fine but the general rule of thumb is they want to see minimum 3 months worth of statements and highly preferred 6 months with minimum 500k
