applying for the non-O Visa in your own country requires the money to be in any bank.

When you apply for the one year extension based on retirement within Thailand the money has to be in a Thai bank

I have no idea if it will be that quick Try and search recent threads but it seems that the sooner the booked flight to Thailand is the quicker the application is processed

Up to you but be aware you should stay in Australia while waiting for the visa

As far as they can see it’s a requirement that has little to no impact on them
