maybe ask on a tax forum 😀

Generally no although on a very few occasions it has been done successfully. You need a non tourist type visa to open a bank account at the moment

Answer to question 1 is it depends on so many things. Some embassies ask for 500K each, others just want a letter saying applicant will cover dependants costs, and others are just fine with first 500k only.. Q2 you don't actually have to book anywhere just name a place for the first few days. Q3 I wouldn't fuss about extra 3 months If you have more great

You will get lots of different answers depending on what each person has experienced. Some embassies require 500K each, others 500K for applicant and a letter saying they will cover the dependant, and some just 500K for the original applicant and dependants ( children as well) are included

@Paul ******
Different situations get different responses from different banks. If your gf is Thai that would have changed the situation from a single tourist

You're missing the relevant visa You need to get that first from outside Thailand. Its a non O visa which gives you 3 months Time enough to open a bank account season funds and then apply for a 1 year "extension based on retirement" Cost 1900 thb

I wouldn't delay applying for your visa and put travel dates relevant to the letters you have Quote relevant flight numbers and accommodation just don't actually book those tickets. The downside is that you use up 3 months of a 5 year visa which is no big deal after all stuff happens

First work out what visa you want, apply for that from London, then work out the rest
