once you open your Thai bank account and deposit 800k you apply for ‘ extension of stay based on retirement’ before the 90 days is up and get permission to stay for 12 months and you do this every year but you need the non- O Visa to start with

And they knew where immigration was cos they looked it up just like they did for learning about the requirements for extension based on retirement

you’re initial comments about not being able to get a visa or bank account without an agent are completely inaccurate

As far as your costs with money transfers they will not apply to everyone as we all use different banks methods currencies etc

Don’t wait until you get to Thailand on a tourist Visa that doesn’t work.

you will need to get a non-O Visa from where you live then enter Thailand open a bank account deposit fundsinto the Thai bank account

Then go to immigration and apply for a extension based on retirement

No need for a Visa Agent. My parents just did this at the grand old age of 86 and they are technologically illiterate Thai

Ensure you meet the requirements as outlined on the official Thai website

Yes the 500K THB or equivalent needs to be in a personal current account not in a business account

And no need for an agent
