Paying for expenses with a foreign card is considered as remitting money into Thailand.

You need to have a look at the relevant DTA (if there is any) to determine what will be considered as assessable income by the Thai revenue service in your case.

I think it's how you plan to arrive in Thailand, but I am not sure and I have seen people claiming otherwise. However, that's what I entered in the form.

Sounds like an advert for Persil laundry detergent...

Plus, I'm pretty sure you could not be a dependent. Dependents are spouses and the applicant's children under 20 years of age.

One needs to be at least 20 years old to qualify for a DTV.

It's been discussed multiples times in this group. Do a search for "extension". Most people consider the extension process to be too cumbersome. You will need the same documents as for the visa application, updated. Plus some more, depending on the immigration office and some require the amount in the bank to be seasoned for a specific period of time. Do what you want, but if you choose to apply for an extension, do it well in advance.

Even if it does change, I do not think it will be systematic. It's too complicated and time consuming for them to implement a check on every single person entering on a DTV. However, they could start checking more carefully some people entering by air, especially those who do not travel a lot and basically use their DTV to "reside" in Thailand with a short trip out of the country every 6 months.

At the moment, yes. Things change quickly and often in Thailand, so nobody knows for sure if it will remain the same during the next 5 years.

Hi Priscilla,

Why would it not be doable? They pay you in France, it means that you have a business registration, right?

With the current rules and the way they are enforced, nothing happens if you stop freelancing before the expiry date of your visa, as long as you don't try to apply for an extension of stay beyond the 180-day stamp you get when entering.

2. I said you have a I/E with small biz status, because I thought you have a Georgian biz. A Georgian LLC would not be very smart to work as a freelancer (higher formation and maintenance costs, higher tax rate).
