So, can you tell me...when the pharmacy said you needed a prescription for your medication, did it need to be a Thai doctor? If not, that would help me with one step until I can find a Thai doctor who can help me for later refills.

I have had mixed experiences. With that said, it’s certainly better than the States 🙂. The timeframe is the scary factor (I’ve been down this road before and had to take an emergency flight (which also almost made an emergency landing because of me) back to the U.S.

. Things snowballed from there and I got stuck here. I am simply trying to get my ducks in a row to prevent a recurrence. Last time, I had more time to get things lined up. This time, it will be less than a month in-country to do so. I don’t want to be chasing my tail again. Arriving without things in place does not make sense. It’s too important.

which means I need a doctor familiar with emgality & there’s the rub. I need a pharmacy that will deal with a medication needing refrigerated shipping & storage AND I need a doctor willing to prescribe. I’m assuming I need an in-country prescription. Am I wrong? I’ve never had prescriptions filled in Thailand and I cannot miss a single, monthly dose.

someone (was it you?) posted part of this label before and that’s what got me searching further for the Thai office for Lilly. I still don’t know how to get the medication though. That initial comment did help at least give me a place to start though. I responded to it. I don’t know why it’s now gone.

Yes. Lilly is the company that makes Emgality. I do not believe there is a generic version available. I am very pleased to learn there is a Lilly office in Thailand as that is contrary to what their own company told me, lol. Since reading your and Chris' message, I've looked up some contacts on LinkedIn and will see if I make any progress there. Thanks.

ok. I'm clearly not a pork aficionado. My only offense was the second half of your post. I truly do hope you find what you seek. As I said before, I do understand getting homesick for favorite foods. I'm actually un-homesick right now as I'm stuck in the States, in an area with no decent Southeast Asian food. Maybe I'm a tad bit testy.

Based upon the responses here, it seems my understanding is correct. You’re looking for a preparation, not a just cut. Ham is, by definition, a preparation and you’re expecting a foreign country to have the preparation of your home.

I understand your wanting to find what you like from home. It’s a normal desire. Your request would have been fine had you left out your judgement of the cuisine of the place where you’re living. Food clearly they prefer. I simply don’t understand why it was necessary and I do understand Andy’s reaction.

is it the part of the pig or how it’s prepared?

The PM is basically an anti-histamine, diphenhydramine. I don't know where to find it.

yeah. That's what I'm doing in FL. However, I'm sure you'd agree that family receiving the mail would be better, especially when dealing with finances. Before you say go electronic, I've tried and most of my institutions have complied properly. One seems to insist on still sending me mail. Before you tell me to move my money, I can't for one of the investments...I will NEVER use an advisor again. These problems I'm facing are one of the reasons I'm not in Thailand yet. The absurd financial rules in the U.S. have made things quite complicated...and then...there are taxes 🙂.

Living in FL, someone tells me to leave the country on a regular basis, usually in response to my having the gall to be offended by a stranger slapping my butt or something similar. I laugh and respond, "I'm trying." They have no clue as to what's involved.
