Yes she can be asked for an interview as she is applying for the DTV as a dependent.

Recent approvals have been given for a final balance of 500k with 3-6 months of statements. One approved 2 weeks ago had 500k for a month with 3 months of statements.

You can apply again, it's unfortunate a simple mistake can be so costly. "Friendly" embassies are in Vietnam, Jakarta.Laos and Cambodia are "friendly" but can take upto a month for approval.

where is the 800 k for a non o deposited if not a Thai bank. ? I earn way more in overseas banks/other investments than a Thai bank for sure.

i do not think so, as Ossie outlined no need to tie up 800k in a Thai bank account for 5 years earning very little, i travel every 3 months or so anyway so get fresh 180 days easily. 10k for 5 years is a no brainer. The income via investing 800K covers a lot of my personal travel expense. Can work openly online with the DTV which the retirement visa does not allow.

Therre are posts by non os moved to DTV and someone last week posted about how many he knows have moved. .Not saying 1000s are moving but there are some for sure. or just choosing to go down DTV route instead of the retirement route like the Op.

I abbreviated my 6 months of bank statements to show income deposits and several outgoings each month. Final balance and evidence of income was key.

You can not apply in Chiang Mai, it has to be outside of Thailand.. If you are in ThaIlnd you can go to Vietnam, Jakarta etc to apply.

That is debatable. Some retirees are moving onto the lower cost option DTV
