Thank you so much. Yes my lawyer did tell me she has cancelled my previous non-B. Apparently it had to be done quite soon after the amnesty began to avoid a fine.
Mike you are so helpful, it's wonderful, thank you ๐ Do you know what the situation is for those whose visa ran out before the 26th and they didn't take action? Do you pay just the days you were in overstay before the 26th, or does it continue to add up till you go to immigration?
Many of us are in the same (stressful) boat! Are you aware the Dutch embassy is now issuing letters? (The website doesn't explicitly state it is only for tourists, but they do ask for proof of a cancelled flight) I'm planning to write and ask.
Although you clearly state this seems to work for any visa, including non-imm, in practice this seems a little odd for those of us with 1 year non-imm visas e.g. no flights or intentions of going "home" because here is home. I'm sure the penny will drop and regulations will change, but in the meantime this seems to leave those of us who live here and whose embassies are not issuing letters in a bit of a pickle!
Has anyone on a non-imm b visa successfully obtained a letter from their embassy?
