From what i've been told it's a strong ties, Weak ties method. The stronger her ties are that she will come back to thailand and the weaker ties to the united states gives the best chance of approval. The stronger ties to Thailand are more likely it is to get approved. Such as her having a really good paying job here in Thailand with a work letter saying she's going to be gone for a few weeks from work and returning back and she has vacation days bla bla bla. Bank account statements sometimes matter. Having kids, a house, and car here in thailand gives her a lot stronger ties to come back as well. They have a high disapproval rate. Maybe your lawyer can explain all of this better to you. I know integrity legal has a lot of videos about it on youtube if you wanna check it out.

No you don't... You will get 60 day stamps each time you fly in. Any flights into thailand with frequencies can cause additional proof by an immigrations officer of a vacation type stay.

correct but banks will still do it. It was never easy to get an account on a visitors visa.

i saw they are cracking down on new accounts. Especially ones that phone numbers don't match account names. Like almost everything in Thailand if you throw some money at it you can make it happen. You can still open an account on a visitors visa you might have to jump through some additional hoops.

you're talking about two different things here. The 220 baht is the ATM withdrawal fees for using the ATM of a bank you don't have an account with. Every ATM here in thailand charges that. That is refunded to me. My bank eats that cost for me. The other fee that you keep talking about is a currency converter fee. You shouldn't be selecting that when you withdrawal money from the ATM it cost extra money. I don't know how to say this any other way. ATM fees don't apply to me. Your reasons are not the same as everyone else. My reason for getting a thai bank account was so I didn't have to take 15 to 20,000 baht in cash with me everytime I go outside. It's safer and I only have to bring my phone and like 5,000 baht which is was safer.

for you maybe. Everyone has different reasons why they got or want to get a thai bank account. All your reasons don't apply to me.

Honestly it's just the QR code thing. Like paying your internet and electric bills just by scanning it. I also pay my rent with a qr code. No need to carry large amounts of cash around when you go to the club or anything like that. I just need my phone.

If you're already in thailand and on another visa it's going to be complicated. Get yourself an agent. I used this one while I was staying in thailand. She's very good. Add her on line app
