TLDR : Answer Summary
A visitor planning to stay in Thailand for one month, four times a year, may consider a multi-entry tourist visa. While it is possible to use visa exemption stamps (60-day stays), frequent entries could raise questions with immigration officers. Depending on nationality, some could potentially use the visa exemption multiple times, but this is becoming less certain. Recommendations from the community suggest obtaining at least one single-entry tourist visa and switching between visa exemptions and a multi-entry tourist visa for added security, as immigration policies are becoming stricter.

Just adding to this post ... what can you do if you get refused entry can you get a cheap flight to a country nearby and make visa or you can not try re- entry for 60 days ???

Good thinking pick new one each time that way their less likely to get their hooks into you.

I've been travelling on visa exempt for 13 years and some years in Thailand 7 times in one year and minimum 3 times in one year with no problems. I'll be going again in March and was there January and February this year also with no issues

I would try entering visa free with the 60 day visa exemption twice then get a multiple entry tourist visa for the other two trips. This is just to be safe as they are getting more strict on this now.

I’d get at least one single entry T visa. Maybe for third trip.

No you don't... You will get 60 day stamps each time you fly in. Any flights into thailand with frequencies can cause additional proof by an immigrations officer of a vacation type stay.

Sounds like genuine tourism albeit regular visits. But at the end of the day it will be entirely up to the immigration officer you will stand in front of when you try to enter

Surely visiting 4 times for a month or under is only one thing,Tourism, not maximising 60 days or extensions or bounces,But Thailand has the luxury of so many tourists now it can judge how it wants,or Worsley an individual I.O officer can judge,it really does need some guidelines to help people asking these questions ,rather than hanging wondering how a I.O officer is feeling 🙄

Almost certainly yes. Depending on your nationality you could potentially use the visa exempt stamp. There isn’t a technical limit on how many times you can use that so you might get away with it. However that’s increasingly unlikely with some people being questioned or even denied on their second attempt.

A multiple entry tourist visa allows unlimited entries for its 6 month validity. Depending on your timeframe that might suit.

Alternatively the DTV is a 5 year visa that allows unlimited entries during its validity. You get a stamp for 180 days o each entry.
