I printed out and laminated an A6 size copy of the visa. Now it's much more portable and durable.

I noticed that the IO scans the QR code on the print out. A laminated copy is a great idea. I would bring a non laminated one just in case the laminated copy can’t go through the machine inside their booth.

I have a credit card size with visa one side and passport details the other. I even checked into a hotel with it once and used it at a hospital :-)

Seems they not so popular, i think the DTV and various retirement options have more takers. They are trying to simplify the application but i do not think it will increase numbers too much.

Any of the old Kodak Photo shops. They will photocopy, reduce it and laminate it. Still some around. Mine was in Pattaya 2nd Road opposite Soi 7. It is really handy to have. A guy I know was in a club when it was raided. They accepted this as his ID.

They are. As I say I once forgot my passport when I went to Bangkok for a weekend. After a bit of backward and forward the hotel accepted it. Hospital too but I was registered there anyway. Pal involved in the club raid was thankful. Those without ID taken to police station. Could ask a friend etc to bring ID and go home. If nobody then wait till morning and police go with you to hotel or condo etc.

Train company will also accept it i think cos when i did not have my passport they said a copy would be fine. If you have a valid reason not to have your passport then hotels accept other forms of ID..

On another subject have you seen the changes to Smart Visa and LTR? Basically Smart Visas except "S" discontinued and "S" only the 2 year one now. Must set up company first for S visa. Basically they are getting rid of the overlaps and making LTR the primary visa for long term residents. If they really wanted to be sensible they should have different levels of Digital Nomads/Work from Thailand professionals. Could then roll DTV Workaytion into that one.

Have not seen that. Are those visas popular?

I do not think the Smart Visa outside S was so popular. The LTR did have a lot of crossover and having a single option makes sense.

I have mine saved as a photo on my phone. But I think you don't even need that because it's digitally in immigrations system.

I am not sure but I think that is for the people that didn't E file. When I went through customs 2 months ago they didn't ask for it. I'm curious to see if they ask for it when i come back into the country again.

It is for those that E file. i have a DTV stamp Visa in my passport., we do not get a PDF to print out. I think it is a requirement to print out the E visa DTV.
