 I think you're mixing up 2 very different statuses... this new overstay hype is about tourists doing visa runs. Being late on a 90 day report is for people with long-term visas and only involves a fine. And yes I've experienced it. No big whoop - calm down.

Hi, I'm in the same position with the 30 day visa-exempt arrival. It's confusing, but to your knowledge we don't need a certificate from our embassy to get the normal one-time 30 day extension?
