I figured that you wouldn't, as it IS the responsibility of the individual to make sure they have enough time left on a passport. I ask only because I heard a story a few years ago of someone who was in this situation. He "claimed" that he would be receiving the remainder of his extension stamped into his new passport when it arrived.

last year my wife was in Bangkok for medical treatment during the under consideration period (we advised immigration upon application). He did a video call to me at same time as I video call my wife. He took screenshots of me holding the iPad with my wife's face - in each room of the house. They will accommodate you if you let them know at initial interview.

OP was asking specifically about the US Embassy, and they stopped issuing affadavits for income a long time ago. It was never in question about being able to do it or not, just the best way to go about it.

For the initial 90 day visa, and the first year extension, you have to use the 800k in the bank method. 65k per month needs to be for 12mth prior to applying, which rules out using it until the 2nd year extension.

From experience the letter can be X days in advance, but bookbank update usually needs to be day of….

Can you let us know where you are coming from, who you are flying, and your current situation regarding vaccination/covid 19 infection etc? That will help to narrow down what information you are looking for :)
