Concerning Thai government (immigration)

Continually changing rules that for Westerners makes it more complicated to stay for up to 120 days EASILY

Collectively Westerners (American/Great Britain/EU)

Spend a LOT of money in the Thai economy

Chinese = are Cheapies- so limit them to 30 days ( they won’t typically stay more than a week anyway)

But as always I’ll say =

It’s the Thai government making decisions— I just don’t think they understand Westerners thoughts on travel and spending $$

Bad move = in present day hyper-strict Thai immigration

You may not like the ramifications

As troublesome as it has become = those gaming the tourist visa system -- to live long-term in Thailand = get the message = the good Ole days of Thailand being the Best/easiest place to live in SE Asia

My opinion =

The Thai government is making a huge mistake in making it so hard to stay longterm.

But it IS their country and they will do as they please.

My thought is= they are thinking 20++ years in the past when Hippies came with little or no money and stayed forever.

I think today = most trying to stay (without the complicated retirement visa process have plenty of money to spend) and will infuse Billions of Baht.

Again I'll say

It IS up to the Thai government = socstop whining and di it by the rules or suffer the consequences

And keeping in mind = the Thai authorities pretty much interpret "laws/regulations " at a local level= you never really know 'what are the rules" = it's 🇹🇭

Stop worrying

Sit back

Close your eyes and

Sleep or meditate during the journey

You will either

Make it or not

Go with the flow

Just visiting a couple times per 12 months

I.e. visa exempt - full60 + extension -- 2 times per 12 months

Especially for retirees is not out of ordinary

AND the monetary benefit to Thailand is huge and easy money source
