For sure if you manage to get one in country somebody will tell immigration and then watch out. May be different if you get one from Myanmar? A Thai maid would be better at least they would know where the deals were and of course they would be on a kick back but then that is life in the Land of Smiles.
St. Neots, Just down the road from where I was born, Bedford. Are you retired, Your best bet is to apply for a tourist visa. You get 60 days plus another 30 if you extend it. I assume you have a UK passport so you will have to do it on line. Just open an account on thaievisa.go.th fill in the forms, follow the instructions, pay and if nothing is wrong you will get your visa. Check the place out before you do anything rash. I am off back there myself on Sunday.
Isn't US one of the Countries where you have to apply for a visa using the Electronic site? I sent 3 months worth of bank statements and had no problems.
Well they certainly have a system and it works. Get the tourist visa and fly into BKK if you have a visa and an onward ticket there should be no problem. After all if they give you a visa it is a licence to enter.
