Hi everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I have a question about visa for Filipino helpers. I understand that theyโ€™re not allowed to work as domestic helpers in Thailand, is that true? Any way to work around that? Thank you ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the legality of Filipino domestic helpers working in Thailand, suggesting that they are not allowed to do so. Comments confirm that it's likely true due to regulations preventing foreign workers from taking jobs that can be filled by Thai citizens. They mention that there may be no legal workaround, but also suggest alternative options for Filipinos, such as working as English teachers.

If your english is good then you can work as English teacher in Thailand. Try to contact local schools. Its little bit easy for you as Philippines citizen.

No leagal way around it. There are plenty of helpers that would work and they are well aware of the rules and how to navigate the system.

any idea what the going rate for a Pinay worker is there? I am getting married to a Filipina and we will visit Thailand again, thinking about finding a filipina to help out around the house and go shopping with my wife - (give me some golf time)

Good luck with that.

For sure if you manage to get one in country somebody will tell immigration and then watch out. May be different if you get one from Myanmar? A Thai maid would be better at least they would know where the deals were and of course they would be on a kick back but then that is life in the Land of Smiles.

Probably true. Cannot take a Thai's job. Can you even keep her in Thailand or for that matter get her out of the Philippines.
