The point of 10 days isn't to trick anyone, it's to show genuine travel intent and activity, not a same-day turnaround. Immigration looks at patterns, not just one trip. A longer stay abroad demonstrates you're actually traveling, not just border hopping.

Logic. Immigration is far stricter now, you wouldnt know if you run your visa to 179 days each time. Try it and see when you get pulled aside. I travel every month back and forth to my home country. Ive seen people at the airport get pulled aside the last 2 months.

The rules have changed....Anyway sounds like people who dont have the actual finances to keep their visa active. If you can't travel 2-3 times in 6 months then you are gaming the system and that is exactly why they are cracking down. Good luck.

Immigration is discretionary everywhere—you don’t get to argue your case at the border. If they’re not satisfied, you’re denied. It’s that simple.

With DTV, re-entry can be treated like a fresh check.

Officers can and do ask for updated proof, not just what you submitted months ago. That includes:

Proof of funds (500,000 THB, and it should be in your account at the time—not outdated statements)

Updated contract, enrollment, or whatever qualifies you under your visa category

A travel pattern that doesn’t look like you’re just resetting your stay every 180 days

Short 1–2 day runs aren’t illegal, but if that is your pattern, it raisesquestions. It’s not about written rules it’s about how it looks to immigration in real time as you are trying to reenter.

The case I mention is exactly that. She assumed she could do a quick run and come back, got questioned, couldn’t provide updated documents on the spot, and was denied entry. No second chances, just put on a flight out.

She's posting frantically on Facebook trying to find someone to take care o her cat. She has an apartment and she can't even enter bc her pattern was not acceptable and she didnt have her updated documents.

So no, staying out 10 days isn’t a law. It’s called risk management. If you want to minimize issues, keep your documents current, make sure you actually have the required funds sitting in your account, and avoid patterns that make it look like you’re gaming the system.

It's pretty crazy you didnt leave the country once in 6 months, it's obvious you are trying to game the system. Better to go and apply an extension than risk not getting back in and leaving your stuff behind. Not leaving for 6 months at a time gives the suspicion of economic hardship......

Recently someone was denied. I would do a 10 day visa run at least. You are defeating the intention of that visa if you go only for a couple days and they are very strict now.

LOL well if you aren't willing to follow the rules they set then why are you even here? This post is absurd. Go back to your nation state and you don't have to follow any immigration rules.
