Thank you
@Robert ******
!

I’m unsure still though as my situation is a little murky (to me at least). If you or anyone else can give clarity on this I’d be very appreciative.

I arrived late 2022 via flight with 45 day stamp on arrival, got a 30 day extension on that.

In 2023 - as of now I am on a Tourist visa (I had one previously approved but not in time for my arrival in 2022), which I used recently in a Malaysia land border run. I intend to do a 30 day extension on this.

From what I can gather, I should be able to do a second border run for this year after that?

Hopefully I will sort out a more permanent visa by that point anyway, but just planning for worst case scenarios.

This is exactly what I did, so yes it is possible!

My Tourist Visa was not approved in time for my flight into Thailand, so I had to use a 45 day stamp on arrival, which I then extended for the 30 days.

During this time I have had my now approved and unused Tourist Visa, which I successfully used 3 weeks ago when doing a Malaysia land border run.

Edit: But now I think about it, maybe because your Tourist Visa is already approved at the time of entry (mine wasn't) then your situation is different
