Yep I think maybe I was. Didn’t know that about Bangkok Bank, they turned me away along with a few others.

Having the cert of residence addressed to the bank plus my name, passport number and living address all on the form seemed to nullify the need for me to show anything apart from a matching passport.

Less than 30 mins later I walked out with my bank card and book.

Very lucky it seems but it is possible.

just catching up to all of the responses yesterday. I mis worded what I said about a letter, the cert provided by IO was addressed to Bank of Ayudhya (krungsri). Here is proof (obvs covered private info and used google translate).

I do agree with you however the majority of people who have given me grief have not even attempted it.

I understand that now, from this thread (ha).

The constant ‘it’s impossible’, ‘can’t be done on a DTV’, ‘you need to pay an agent’ bothered me as not strictly true either.
