I have been in Thailand since December. And I’m in a van right now coming back from my second and consecutive land border bounce. The officers in both Thailand and Malaysia were super nice at each window.

The other person who went with me had been in Thailand for 3 years and she has taken 1 month holiday in Malaysia, otherwise she said it’s been a same day exit/entry or just an overnight for a quick get away.

any reason you won’t get a new passport at the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok?

7 years ago is a lifetime. My experience has been from this year, extending twice with no issues.

I’ve extended twice this year and never needed to bring a form. I show up at immigration with my passport and money. They give me a form and a worker helps me fill it out (mostly the address section), and then they sit me with an officer who takes my photo digitally, asks me if I like Thailand, stamps the passport and I’m out the door. Super easy!!

yes I just went Feb 19-21. I had two friends do the same thing each a week apart, before me. The first friend tried to return the same day and she was explicitly told to spend 1 night then come back the next day. I had zero issues and the agents were nice.

I went into immigration and extended a few days after I got into the country. They just want your money. Super easy process.

They extend by date so there’s no purpose in waiting.
