I think you are mixing things up. In HCMC you're not applying for a work permit. The work permit is something else than a visa.

Did you have a re-entry permit or a multiple entry visa? If you didn't, by flying out of the country, the visa is not valid anymore.

For a new visa you need to go to a thai embassy or consulate, not "just cross the border" and pick up day is minimally a day after aplication day.

Yes. I had the tm8 filled in and 1 photo attached. The whole re-entry permit process took me less than 10 minutes today around 10am.

She has to arrange her passport in the city/province where she is registered. Many thais remain registered in their place of birth, while living somewhere else.
