maybe you can still get a 60 daya tourist visa, but it is indeed a waste of money. Also a visa is no guarantee for entrance.

Rental contract doesnt show that you are a tourist but looks like you are a long stayer. Maybe book a refundable hotel? (Not fair for the hotel though)

You dont need soft power of 5 years. People get/got away with some weeks training or even 1 dentist appointment at some embassies.

But This is Thailand and too good to be true. Maybe they will check in some year(s) if you still have a valid reason when entering. Maybe they won't.🤷‍♂️

At least for extension for the extra 180 days you have to reproduce all the intitial paperwork at this moment, so that would be hard with a short course or treatment
