I think it might work better to encourage someone to do something, than to ask them not to do something. You cold put your boarding pass where you want the visa stamped and point at the space for the stamp, and smile.
I read online that the 45 days is only for arrivals by plane. But I can't remember the source or if it was reputable. The group moderator says the 45 days is for arrivals via the land border too.
Sorry for the FAQ - do you know how common it is to be asked for proof of a ticket out of Thailand, when entering these days? Does this vary depending upon whether you cross by sea or by land? I've not been asked for a ticket before. If I'm asked to provide one, could I just buy it online at the border?
I can't remember where I read that. Do you know where I can read confirmation that the 45-day visa will also be provided at land borders? This would affect my travel plans.
'As of October 1st citizens from 53 countries that are able to enter Thailand visa exempt will get a stamp for 45 days (up from 30).' From what I've read this is only true if you *arrive by plane*, and not if you arrive by crossing a land border. I think that's a shame, among other things because it's not an environmentally friendly policy to encourage people to fly unnecessarily.
