Why is it difficult to re-enter Thailand on a tourist visa after short trips abroad?

Nobody wants problems with immigration, it takes away any security the visas provide.

I am going to do a medical DTV and hope that in 5 years time the immigration issues are solved. I think Thailand and other SE Asian countries will realize each expat is worth $20,000 USD + a year.

I was coming back into the USA and read the sign that told you to hand your passport and something else only to the IO in Chicago. In 45 seconds I forgot what it said and handed exactly the wrong stuff to the IO. Let’s just say he wasn’t very pleased with me…

Steve Greir Yes, I understand that. I will have a few dental implants done so the medical/dental facility will assist with the DTV. I will probably apply from Penang Malaysia.

I’m dealing with that too, I will come on a tourist visa and convert to a DTV during the 60+30 days. I thought assets were assets, but they don’t count property, crypto or anything except a bank account for 90 days.
