I can share with you my experience applying for a DTV at the Chicago embassy using my business last year. If interested, I will post it here. Strictly follow what your embassy requires. Don't give any superfluous information. For example, I am a 401(K) millionaire and own a house in the Chicago area worth around 800K USD, but I did not disclose my assets to them.

Are you mentally challenged? Could you please check the "permission to stay" date on your passport instead of asking unnecessary questions?

Arnold Johnston Maybe he does not want to lock his money in a Thai bank in perpetuity.

For a marriage visa, you can take the money out of your account after it's approved, unlike a retirement visa. You can deposit the funds two months before applying for an extension for the following year.

Instead of asking here if they will take the monthly deposit or not, you should ask the immigration office where you will be applying because it varies from office to office.

Lee Greenwood I did it for ten years and then ditched it and opted for a DTV visa that gives me the freedom to come and go as I please and is completely free of Thai bank and immigration bureaucracy.

It just amazes me that people come to Thailand, and within one year, they cannot live without their fiancé. Why not just marry in Thailand with a "Affirmation of Freedom to Marry" certificate from your embassy?
