well I am retired and get >$3000/m income and about a $15k savings buffer. I don’t drink, smoke, party. I hope I can make it. I eat maybe 2 meals a day. I could be full on 2 chicken skewers and a few cups of coffee a day. Health insurance will probably be my biggest expense, probably as much as my rent.
Good luck. Probably depends on the IO. They are cracking down border jumps . That’s why it getting back to 30 days from the 60 that was just put in place a couple of months ago. Get the correct visa if you want to stay long term
I had Thai Visa Pattaya tell me almost the same exact thing. He said I don’t need to worry about money. Just need my passport and ID. Setup bank account. $1600 for a 15 month multi entry visa
I might split my time between Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and more coastal areas. I’m from Texas so we have heat and very high humidity but idk if it’s the same. Who knows, I could stay a couple of months and go back home or want to stay as long as I can. That’s the funny thing about being retired and not being tied down by anything or anyone.
