I have seen this happen in many SEA countries. For example SRRV smile in Philippines was cancelled due to chineses casino operators abusing the visa. Thai government want people in the country but not open the floodgates to all sorts of people.

This isn’t negativity. But people shouldn’t count on it without knowing the facts.

exactly this. Or they get mass influx of Chinese DTV holders for example and decide to cancel it on a whim. Who knows.

This gentleman is from ministry of FA. They set the visa. Implementation of the rules is down to immigration. Totally different body.

So in reality, how this visa will actually work is unknown. At the end of the day, immigration has the power when it comes to who enters Thailand. And they have yet given any guidance on this visa. So right now it’s wait and see what happens.

wow mate. I knew things were getting expensive in NZ but this is nuts.

No one can say for sure. People talk like they know are full of it. Even Thai immigration don’t know. We will have to wait and see. The confusion is that ministry who make up these visas are not the ones that enforce immigration or are responsible for immigration matters.
