1) soft-power: I have been receiving ongoing medical treatment at a hospital in chiang mai. it doesn't require any serious surgery or anything. but I will be able to provide evidence of future appointments and treatments
2) workcation: I get about $500 p/month in royalties from a bunch of books I wrote during covid. it's self-employed and self-published. So no letter from an employer or anything. but I will be able to show bank statements for the money coming in from amazon. and also a portfolio of all the books I published
does anyone have any opinion on which route would be best?
also, can anyone point me in the direction of the actual official website I am supposed to book an appointment through??
i found the royal thai consulate website for HCMC. but it doesn't have anything about DTV visas on it

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering two options for applying for a DTV visa in Thailand: one based on ongoing medical treatment in Chiang Mai (soft-power) and the other on income from self-published books (workcation). They seek opinions on which route is preferable and inquire about the official booking website for the visa process.
that's bogus. If that was true, then they can question every other DTV type as well. Just because you had work when you applied doesn't mean you still have work, as well as the 500K requirement which applies to everyone.
