 visa = an endorsement granting a temporary stay.

an extension of stay is literally the extension of that endorsement.

Its all in the 1979 Immigration Act.

Have seen requests for this is the past from HCMC but not Savannakhet.

From those posts (2022) seems it’s just a simple letter requesting you receive the visa. Maybe with verbiage re your financial support?

What should I do if my Thai visa extension has the wrong date?

Of all the stamps I’ve ever gotten Jomtien was the only one that stamped me wrong for an extension that took an agent to get for me in the first place. And no he didn’t look before he left.

The first AND last time I ever used an agent for a visa related issue.
