I was there 2 weeks ago and got that visa without a letter from my wife. BUT my wife was with me at the consulate dont know if that makes a difference. Didnt see anything about a letter in the online requirements as far as I recall. They did want a copy of thr Thai document for changing her name after we were married.

had a copy of Laos visa/stamp dont remember if they took it. We were married in the US so i had the US marriage cert plus the Kor Ror 22 (registration of foreign marriage).AliJames *****

Have seen requests for this is the past from HCMC but not Savannakhet.
From those posts (2022) seems it’s just a simple letter requesting you receive the visa. Maybe with verbiage re your financial support?

Prior to getting a non-B I had always gone to HCMC and this was a requirement. So I assumed it would be for Savannaket too. The Savannaket website doesn't mention about requiring one either so I suppose I can scrap it.Steve *******
I've used Savannakhet for that same visa since about 2015, never needed a hand written letter from the wife.
