65k is still a lot of money a month. In Thailand. What if you already got a house and don’t do much. I’ve seen people live on 25k comfortably (for one person)

Overall it’s just the stability of 5 years for most of the visas above.

Each one is different here. For retirement just an example. You got money tied to thai bank account with little interest and weak currency that’s for one. You wanna have the hassle of extending it every year compared to just a bus down to Cambodia. You have peace of mind for 5 years instead of each year a new extension/visa process Etc. too many to list. But I would say money is the first one
