TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the experiences of individuals applying for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand, highlighting the contrast between success and potential failure stories. While many report quick approvals, there are concerns about the need for thorough documentation and eligibility. Some users mention the rarity of outright denials, often suggesting that applicants are usually requested to provide additional documents before any rejection occurs. Additionally, the conversation touches on translation requirements for documents, the need for 90-day check-ins for DTV holders, and queries regarding transitioning from retirement visas to the DTV. Overall, the sentiment leans towards a generally positive outlook on the application process, with an emphasis on preparedness.
Well you get to spend the money Bt 500,000 if you like when you arrive in Thailand after you pay Bt10,000 to get the visa, you can renew your visa in Thailand after 6 months of that first year and the other 4 years is the same. As far as I can see you really have to be able to prove you're going to Thailand for a reason. Being a self-employed digital nomad seems to be already a popular reason, many posts on this site and other seems to be acceptable. but This is Thailand TIT.
Has anyone successfully applied for the soft power with sports training, other than Muay Thai ? Thank you š and all the best to everyone!

Update :soft power doesn't work in KL. They actually seem to have no clue about the DTV... and also ask for a local bank account for proof of š°. Also, they give you an appointment 1 week later for additional documents... so the processing time can be very long... better trying somewhere else š
I would like to know the answer to this one too. When ever I come over I always sign up for 6 month membership at Fitness First and spend a lot of my time there
The DTV appears very laks, I think they will tighten the requirements when DTV holders start disappearing, same with the 30 day on arrival from certain countries. Question, do DTV holder need to do 90 day reports?
Andy can you give me more info about what you uploaded please mate, Iām gonna be returning home to the uk soon to see family and to apply for the DTV visa
It is really not often they reject a visa. In most cases, when in doubt, they just request additional / different documents and donāt just reject an application.
they take your money non refundable. If you have or donāt have documents they donāt give a F. Once you pay thereās no money back

Applied from LA and it's taken two weeks for an update. They needed one document verified, now we'll wait to see how long it takes from here. From what I hear they are helpful and want to help people get the visa, as long as they're eligible.
what do you mean by āverifiedā? What document if you donāt mind sharing

I mean if you arenāt eligible then you shouldnāt be applying I guess. Thereās probably people that have chanced applying with half when they probably donāt have the correct evidence or something but if you have everything in order then I donāt see a reason to be denied the visa š¤·āāļø
