Ask your old company to cancel 21 days in advance for your visa to have it effective date on the last day your work at the old company. Request work permit book that not yet cancel because work permit belongs to you and not the company to give to new company to adding their company into your work permit. And apply for visa extension based on changing new employer and you will get it extend to match validity date of your work permit. Your old company then can remove their company name off of your work permit on the last working date of the okd company. No need to go abroad.

The writing is to inform the immigration to check your financial or show fund to them upon entering the country. Maybe they suspects that you are working illegally and not just stay for a tourist.

Fyi: it doesnt matter if you have a new passport. They use your full name and date of birth and nationality to check and validate your information if you have ever enter the country or your travel history.
