I have the DTV which as far as I’m aware is multiple re-entry valid for 5 years.

It’s just that this particular time on my first stretch I’m here for 94 days and I wasn’t even 100% sure if I even needed to file these 90 day reports if I’m under the DTV but it now seems clear that as a foreigner, regardless of visa type you need to file.

Overall it seems to me like they’re simply keeping tabs on where all the foreigners are e.g. hotel when you check in, TM30 for a landlord (if renting) and a 90 day check in.

From what I’ve gathered in this group, when I get back from the USA in dec, the DTV will “reset” and give me another 180 days from when I land, but I’ll need to file in person again after 90 days and then I can do subsequent 90 days online.

I’m here for 94 days this stint so I will just go on about day 80 or so.

Cheers

ok that makes sense and as to point 1) explains why they insist on copying my passport when I check in. Presumably the hotel is filing a TM30 with them directly.

And as to point 2, perfect thanks.

I’ll make sure I go there before I leave in dec because I don’t want any issues when I get back to continue the DTV visa.

Thousand thanks!

I did notice that the system scan misspelled my name as MATHEW when I first put it in….

I changed that obviously and now that you mention it, I’m thinking is maybe switched an I for a 1 or something like that,,

And yup, expensive mistake..

I have dual citizenship Aussie and kiwi.

I’m thinking maybe that part muddied the water a bit also?

It does ask citizenship, and any others which I entered in the online form..

dunno,, all a bit perplexing at this point

@Ron *****
yeah, that’s what I thought. Hopefully it’s just a clerical error somewhere along the lines.

@Baz ********
yeah, I’m thinking that might have been a better option all along

I’ve just sent them an email and will try to call them when they open.

I’m basically halfway inbetween sydney and Canberra.

I entered the field exactly as it’s printed in the passport i.e DIA SYD

I did this on purpose so it would match exactly.

For the record, I would 100% expect an embassy employee who is processing applications all day long to understand that passports can be issued in embassies globally and the variations of “place of issue” could be different to the issuing authority.
