What type of employment certificate do I need to confirm my remote worker status for a DTV visa in Thailand?

So I applied for DTV and they came back requesting “employment certificate indicating your remote worker status”.

But the thing is, my employment contract clearly states that it is indeed a remote position (in one of the clauses).

Ahould I just get my boss to write a letter confirming that clause or is there an actual official employment certificate from a governing body that I need to get?

This is in Australia btw.

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a visa (DTV) and was asked for an 'employment certificate indicating remote worker status', despite having a remote position clearly stated in their employment contract. Suggestions from other users include sending the contract with the relevant clause highlighted, obtaining a letter from their boss on company letterhead confirming the remote work status, and concerns about whether authorities might contact the employer for verification.

Does anyone know if they will actually contact your employer after sending them the signed letter?

They asked me the same. My employer wrote a headed and signed letter saying I am an independent contractor with my salary for the past year

did they actually contact your employer to check information?

Or is signed letter enough? I’m worried they will call my employer

Because my employer won’t be reachable for a few weeks. So I’m worried they will try to contact her, get no answer and then will decline my application

why are you worried they will call? They didn’t contact mine anyway and it said that they could if they needed to on the letter with an email

thanks ash.

I’ve asked the COO to write a doc on letterhead signed by him confirming it’s a remote position and I’ll submit that.

Will update the group as to the response either way.

Does your employment contract bear the company letterhead and director's/ employer's name and signature?

yes it does. It’s a proper legal doc (out of the USA) I work for a regulated firm (CFTC) so it’s all legit.

I had same issue in NL. They wouldn’t budge and wanted a official letter with company letter head, signature spelling outright full time remote work.

My company just referred me to remote work policy addendum and I had to give up. Re applied in Jakarta on medical appointment instead as thats my current location

I wasn’t in Jakarta at the time. Would have been very difficult to apply in Jakarta when i was located in Amsterdam 😁

You can simply have your boss state on company letterhead that your job is authorized to work remotely, then signed. Thais don't really like being pointed out that they missed something.

They probably just missed it. I would try sending again with the relevant section highlighted or emphasized somehow.
