I think there must be a huge backlog in Bangkok. Just sit tight and I am sure it will resolve itself.

and yourself are referring to two different under consideration issues. Can you confirm that you are applying to extend your non immigrant O visa based on marriage. If you are then the usual length of time you are under consideration is around a month. With all the current COVID-19 issues this time may be longer. It wouldn't do any harm to pop into immigration and find out the latest on your application. I personally wouldn't be too worried. When I did my last extension my passport was stamped with a 3 week under consideration stamp and the immigration officer told me that they would be phoning me in around a month's time when they got the decision back from (I presume) Bangkok.

both agency and the immigration employee are competent. The immigration employee was telling you what the law is. The agency was telling you what they can do for you if you pay them enough money.

I hope you're right. As I said just my opinion from what I have read about some Embassies offering visas and some not. The ones that don't appear to be from high COVID infection rates. Maybe there is another reason.

Best if luck when you apply.

good luck with your application. This is my personal opinion and not based on any facts. I think two policies are being mixed here. There is the policy of 14 day quarentine, that is none negotiable at the moment and everyone must do it. Then there is the travel bubble or travel corridor policy. This is where you allow travel from countries with low or zero infarction rates.

Right or wrong this is what appears to be happening.

If it is as it appears that you have paid an agent for a volunteer visa rather than actually being a volunteer. You are now in the grasp of the agencies. There is little option than to carry on paying whatever the agent asks for.

If you are actually volunteering then your organisation can sort out further extensions.

as you can see from the replies there are definitely discrepancies. A friend of mine was issued his CoE and visa at the same time.

Like everything to do with immigration law (worldwide) there is latitude for each office, consulate or embassy to do things their way. Whether the visa or CoE is processed first or second what does it matter?

the funds can be in a your Thai bank account or a UK equivalent in a UK bank.

Alternatively you could show an income of 40,000 Baht a month.

Having the capital is more straightforward.
